How The Workplace
Can Help
Lasting positive change
requires a healthy workplace. Our program identifies how workplace policies and culture can support employees in making healthy choices.
Healthy Eating

healthy eating

Eating the recommended levels of fruit and vegetables reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease by 28%. Maintaining a healthy body weight is one of the most important things a person can do to reduce their risk of cancer and other chronic diseases.

Physical Activity

physical activity

Research shows that regular physical activity can help protect against cancers of the breast, colon and uterus. Being active also keeps your heart healthy, and makes your bones and muscles stronger

Healthy Minds

healthy minds

1 in 5 Canadians will experience a mental illness at some point in their life, which heavily impacts the workplace. Awareness, understanding and knowledge of mental health issues are key to achieving health and well-being for your workforce.

Tobacco Free

tobacco free

More than 80% of lung cancers and almost 90% of chronic bronchitis and emphysema are caused by smoking. Despite the lowest rates of smoking in Canada, each year about 5,000 British Columbians die from tobacco-related illness.

Sun & UV Awareness

sun & uv awareness

Overexposure to ultraviolet light (UV) from the sun or from tanning beds, is the primary cause of skin cancer. Help your employees protect themselves from harmful exposure to the sun and UV rays while at work and during their leisure time with family and friends.

Early Detection

early detection

When it comes to cancer and chronic diseases, the risk level can vary between different age groups and populations. Finding cancer and other chronic diseases at the earliest, most treatable phases can be the best bet in the fight against them.

Living With Cancer

living with cancer

Two in five Canadian will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Education on how to navigate the workplace, and knowing how to best support an employee, co-workers or friend, can help ease their stress.
